How would you describe what you do to someone who knows nothing about Clif Bar or your role?
First I would have to explain Supply Chain Operations which encompasses all of the functions needed to convert raw materials into Clif products available for purchase on store shelf. At Clif that comprises of teams dedicated to Demand Forecasting, Production Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Food Safety, Inventory Management, Customer Service, Logistics, Engineering, Sustainability, and last but not least, Supply Chain Analysis which supports all of the aforementioned teams. As a member of the Supply Chain Analysis team my main responsibilities include routine reporting on key performance metrics, monthly forecasting, and ad hoc reporting and analysis to provide insight and recommendations to leadership…Yep, I’m a bit of a data nerd. I ♥ Excel!
What do you love most about working at Clif Bar?
There are so many things…the flexible work week, encouraged volunteering (on company time), the on-site fitness center, to name a few. When it all comes down to it, what I love most about working at Clif Bar are the people. “We take ourselves lightly and our work seriously,” pretty much sums up the feel in the office. We get our work done to keep the business thriving and have a good time in the process. As a result, things like lunchtime dance-a-thon fundraisers, Halloween costume contests, and impromptu handstand practice are pretty typical around the office. It keeps things interesting!
What are your interests and passions outside of work?
My interests and passions outside of work involve being outside! Trail running has become a passion of mine since moving to the bay area. I’ve run many of the trails, but there are still so many more I have yet to explore.
What is one of your most memorable food experiences?
Most of my memorable food experiences involve the people I shared them with. With that said, Friendsgiving is one of my favorites. I’m not originally from the bay area and for the past few years haven’t been able to travel home for Thanksgiving. Instead I get together with a group of friends in the same situation. We combine our culinary talents to create a Thanksgiving potluck feast that we now refer to as Friendsgiving.
What has been or will be your greatest adventure?
Most recently I hiked up Half Dome in Yosemite with a group of friends. We decided to hike through the night so we would reach the top at sunrise. It was magical – I highly recommend it! On the horizon is a trip to Italy – I’m looking forward to embarking on a cycling trip through the Dolomites with Gary & Kit, Clif Bar’s Co-Chief Visionary Officers, and a group of co-workers.
