Ultrarunner Ian Sharman, originally from the UK, now residing in the San Francisco Bay Area is known for his staggeringly fast 100 mile times and his penchant to race marathons dressed as Elvis. In 2011, Ian nabbed the course records at the Rocky Raccoon 100 miler, the Ruth Anderson 50K and the Mt. Hood 50 miler. In 2013, Ian set the Grand Slam of Ultrarunning record, completing 4 well known 100 mile races in a combined time of 69:49:38. Oh, and he won the Leadville 100 race along the way! Ian also has 9 Guinness World Records for his costumed marathon results! Ian is also a coach to running athletes worldwide and co-hosts an ultrarunning podcast, Talk Ultra.

First Memory Ultra Running:
My first ultra was six months after I started running and I had no idea how it’d feel or even how possible it was. I was amazed by how things could swing from feeling so wiped out to running again and that this could happen multiple times - it was an eye opener about what the human body is capable of doing.
