Maghalie came to the team in 2014 as a promising young athlete who has since vaulted from relative obscurity to become a crowd and race favorite in the highly competitive discipline of cyclo-cross racing. In her most recent success, Maghalie captured the 2016 Canadian National cyclo-cross championships to claim her first national title.
Maghalie is the team’s de facto captain and #1 cheerleader, effusing every situation – whether good or bad – with a positive attitude, smile and a chuckle. This attitude also makes her a crowd favorite wherever she competes.
Maghalie Rochette By The Numbers
I am the investigator of the Cyclocross Fever. So spreading the CX Fever (love and passion for riding your cx bike) all over the world and making it epidemic is my main goal. I do that by sharing my passion for the sport, riding with people and selling socks, T-shirt and stickers. Eating, cooking, woodworking, reading, adventuring and spending time outside are all things that make me happy.
Why Mountain biking:
I love exploring the outdoors and being in the woods. Mountain biking and cyclocross allow me to do exactly that. I love the freedom that and sense of adventure that comes with cycling; I can spot a mountain and head there with my bike, discovering the smallest roads to access it and exploring around. I also love to push myself to exhaustion, I think it is the best feeling in the world and I get to do it on a daily basis with this sport.
