Calling all Chix

Ever wanted to be a LUNA Chix? Our local Team LUNA Chix program is recruiting for new teams for the 2010 season so now’s your chance! The Team LUNA Chix program’s made up of 26 local teams of everyday women who love to get outdoors and challenge themselves. We’re looking to add new teams to our roster in cities all over the country. Local teams host weekly women's events, monthly clinics and semi-annual fundraisers to benefit the Breast Cancer Fund during the season from April through October. If you’re a leader at heart (or know someone who is!) and…

Brett’s “Trout a la MOJO”

When I was little, my favorite after-school snack was chips and salsa. Even as a kid, I preferred savory over sweet, and upon receiving this video from CLIF BAR GreenNotes artist Brett Dennen, I discovered he likes savory over sweet, too! Now, I’ve seen my share of breaded fish recipes, but this one takes the cake—or shall I say the MOJO Bar. Without further ado, Brett Dennen's "Trout a la MOJO."

Who knew Clif Bars would ever make it into the lyrics of song? First, an old friend from Virginia who…

Swirl. Pause. Assess.

The simple art of wine tasting ain’t so simple. There are all sorts of nuisances to get familiar with; think cork taints and oxidation, olfactory characteristics and other esters. Don’t forget the tasting arena—yup; the different parts of the tongue that pick up on different tastes within each wine. There’s something for everyone. Floral, spicy, fruity. Whatever aroma suites you, you’ll get a chance to give it a swig at the newly opened tasting room at the Clif Family Winery & Farm. The tasting room is now open for seated, private tastings, by appointment. Gather up to ten of your…

Double Fisted Power Explosion…

We’re an active bunch. We like fresh air and we like to move. Some like to pedal around; while others like to walk or surf or hike or swim or run…a lot. In fact, this weekend, 14 of us are venturing off to the land of endurance events to participate in the largest running relay in the world—The Hood to Coast. The race starts Friday and will take our dogged group of twelve runners (and two drivers!) over 24 hours to collectively run the 200 miles. That’s the nature of a relay—it’s all about teamwork. We’ll be running from Mt.…
