Roxie goes East

After our stint at the Green Apple Festival, we headed off to Keene, NH. Andra left NYC a day early to represent LUNA at University of Connecticut which left me, Derin, to cruise from NYC to Keene all by myself. Once we reunited in Keene,  we met up with Seth and Tyler—two of the coolest people you'll ever meet. They're the guys behind the Oil and Water project, a six-leg, world-wide journey promoting alternative energy. We hear they might even drop by the CLIF headquarters on their way down from Alaska to Chile. We grabbed lunch and heard some of their wacky adventures…

Saving the planet, one bag at a time

This may be a little late for Earth Day but since everyday's Earth Day, this is a perfectly fitting, and timely, mention. I think by now, most of us know the good principles behind recycling; we can all recycle our paper products, aluminum cans, but there are always a few things out there that just can't make it in a recycling bin. Ecoist, a super cool company based out of Miami, however, has decided to put all of the junk that piles up in our landfills to use and make stylish, fashionable and functional objects out of the things most…

Greetings from the road!

This is Derin and Andra Williams and we're the CLIF BAR crew that's touring with the band Guster for their Campus Consciousness Tour. It's a climate neutral tour made possible by BioDiesel, wind power and we're spreading the word about global warming, the Breast Cancer Fund, Safe Cosmetics and CLIF and LUNA bars! How sweet is that?!?  Sorry for not getting to you guys sooner, I guess you could say we've been a bit on the busy side-driving 500 miles a day, messenger bag sampling during the day, concert setup at night, 5 hours of sleep, doing it again the…

Shuffle Off This Sofa Coil

I'm gunna shimmy out onto a prognostical limb here and wager that in a hundred years I'll be gone. Where I will have gone by then is neither here nor there (metaphysical entendre, party of one…M.E., your table is ready…), but there will undoubtedly be an availability on my sofa. Sofa…so good. Let’s continue. Embracing the idea that my sofa ownership is merely temporary, I'm left free to devour the sights and sounds of the world with boy-gone-wild abandon and a lumbering finesse virtually unseen since the Australopithecines discovered caffeine. I'm also not above responding gutturally to subtle changes in my immediate…
