Tri it out in Essex

Our friend David was out and about this past weekend at a local triathlon—local to him, at least. The Harwich Runners Club Triathlon was in Harwich, Essex (yup, another UK event). With about 312 athletes, competing in the Sprint and Olympic Distance Triathlon, David was out there sharing the Clif Bar love with some curious Euro athletes. It was a blustery, sunny day—a bit challenging to ride a bike, and fending the chop in the water probably not that much fun either. Nonetheless, an event is an event and a perfect opportunity to help an athlete out who may need…

Meanwhile, across the pond…

David Smith is our somewhat new friend. He lives across the pond, over in London—our first on-the-ground Euro Clifster. We're so proud of him that we decided to send him off in a flurry to spread the Clif love to some unsuspecting runners. Actually, it was his idea to head out to Marlborough and hand out some of our bars and BLOKS at the Marlborough Downs Challenge, one of twelve races that are part of the Ultra Running Championship Series. Save Our Snow 2008—Mt. Hood Meadows

The last official stop on the SOS tour and a follow up to The Drive. Meadows has been my home mountain for the past six years, so ending up here on the last day of the tour felt like a homecoming finale for me. It was great to be back at a mountain where i actually knew where i was going and how to get to some of the secret spots. With a posse of friends, we made our way up Mt Hood express, over to Hood River express and off into the private reserve. This is a chunk of…

Save Our Snow 2008—Mt Hood, Oregon: The Drive

Mike, Marty McFry and Ben start their final journey on the 2008 road trip. At five thirty in the morning, myself and Marty McFry rolled up to Ben's house, ready to embark on the final weekend of the SOS tour. Surprisingly, Ben was not only awake, but also standing in his driveway, in the rain. Neither myself nor Ben are really much of morning people, so i was impressed to see he was off to an early start. Soon i found out, it wasn't that Ben was up early, but that he hadn't slept yet and was technically up late.…

Boston-bound runners

Ahh, spring! Birds chirping. Trees blooming. The sun, a wee bit warmer. Makes running all the easier. Right? Well, okay, maybe all those things just make it easier to get out the door. Whatever floats your boat, whatever gets you out of bed to get your run on, what a better time than now to celebrate one of our favorite sports. While we're at it (celebrating running, that is), why not celebrate those who qualified for one of the most beloved (and brutal) races—the Boston Marathon? We’re inviting all you Boston-bound runners to a little pre-race get-together. Join members of…
