Crazy-Tape Joe Wins One in Sac and the Team’s off to a Fine Start

Maybe it has something to do with the crazy green bar tape – but whatever it is we’re all for it, cuz Joe Iannarelli is rippin’ it at the start of the 2010 season. He nabbed the team’s first win of 2010 at the Cal Aggie Criterium in Sacramento, CA at the end of January. Joe had this to say about the win: “Well this was the first weekend of racing this year and you could say it went much different than expected. After Saturday's mayhem of attacking or following attacks I was well worn out, but didn't really…

Syndicate Set to Turn 2010 Up to Eleven

If you know anything about the international downhill bike racing scene, you probably already know how dominant the Santa Cruz Syndicate has been for the last two seasons. But for those of you who don’t know, here are the facts: 2008 UCI World Cup Overall Champion, 2008 World Junior Champion, 2009 World Champion, over a dozen World Cup victories, and the UCI #1 ranking for two years running. Mr. Jones goes to Washington

In an attempt to give representatives in congress a different view of global climate change, eight-time Big Mountain Snowboarder of the Year (and Team Clif Bar athlete) Jeremy Jones traveled to Washington last week to meet with key mountain states lawmakers, screen the short film Generations, and shred the infamous Nixon Chute on Capitol Hill. OK, there’s not really a chute on Capitol Hill, but if there were, Jeremy could shred it. Regardless, Jeremy, along with Chris Steinkamp, Executive Director of Protect Our Winters, Steve Jones, founder of Teton Gravity Research, and Clif Bar’s very own Director of Environmental…

Troy Wells’ Well of Knowledge—New Year in Belgium

While Eric & I have been working to usher in the New Year here in Berkeley at the Team Clif Bar lair, TCB Cyclocrosser Troy Wells has been hanging out in Belgium, likely eating most of that country’s food. Considering that Troy’s probably chowing down on all the tasty grub to be had there, it’s really a wonder that he’s racing at all. Here’s a list (courtesy of belgium.angloinfo.com) of what Troy’s up against when he sits down at the meal counter: Smoutebollen: A fried pastry served hot on street stalls especially at fairs and festivals Boudin Blanc &…
