BMC’s Kohler places 10th in Romandie prologue

Competing in their first ever Pro Tour race, the BMC Pro Cycling Team proved that they hadn’t come to the Tour de Romandie in awe of the other teams, as Martin Kohler took an impressive 10th place in the 1.9km prologue. Kohler’s ride put him in the company of some of the strongest riders in the world, as he used his power to finish a mere 2 seconds behind the stage winner, Great Britain’s Mark Cavendish. Ultra For A Cure

Running's a good time. Especially when the weather turns a bit more favorable. But when you're an ultra runner, you've got to really like running, regardless of weather the sun's out. I mean, you must really really like running. Just take a look at Michael Kanning, who, at 16 years old, does a lot of running. Even when the weather isn't so hot...Here's the latest and greatest of what he's got up his sleeve—just a little 100-mile race and a bit of fundraising while he's at it. Their skier was 6 minutes faster than the field, while their awesome mountain bike DIVA placed 4th overall on the course that day; Jeremy brought in the team with a 7 minute lead over the next paddler! You would think…

“Sleepy Martijn” scores 4th at Roubaix

Slipstream-Chipotle neo pro Martijn Maaskant rode like a Classics veteran this past Sunday to place 4th in Paris-Roubaix, arguably the world’s toughest single-day bike race. Marking moves like a rider 10 years his senior, Martijn rode intelligently to stay with the best riders in the world, eventually ending up in a chase group of three which could not catch a strong winning breakaway. Maaskant attacked his chase group as they entered the historic velodrome in Roubaix, finishing his final lap on the track solo and missing the podium by only one spot. The Dutch rider, known by his teammates as…

The Vermont Frost Heaves Repeat as ABA Champs

The Vermont Frost Heaves left Quebec City last month with a little something extra to declare at customs—and another ABA title. They did it again. In the team's second year of existence they've won their second ABA title! Congrats Frost Heaves! Here’s the scoop from Alex Wolff, the team’s Pres & GM: We did it. Got our 34-4 regular-season record through customs, overcame a parade of injuries, defied the long odds that champions in any sport face against repeating—and beat three teams in four days at the American Basketball Association Final 8 Championships in Quebec City late last month. That…
