Groovin to the beat

Working at Clif Bar—there are lots of fun sounds to be heard. A few weeks ago, we were having auditions for a Hip-Hop Aerobics instructor. These auditions occurred in the dance room, which is right next door to the R&D meeting room. It seemed that everytime we were having a meeting, it was time for Hip Hop Aerobics! While slightly distracting, it was kind of fun to have some fun, upbeat music and heavy bass drumming during our meeting. It certainly kept everyone bopping around. There's also a band composed of employees who get together weekly to play. They meet…

Here at last

And I can talk about it! A few months ago, I wrote about a new product that was going to be coming out. At the time, I couldn't say much about it, except that I was excited and that it tasted really great. Well, the time has come... the bar is out and I can tell you all about it! It is a new LUNA flavor: Caramel Nut Brownie. Pretty good timing, if you ask me—I've been receiving boxes of candy, chocolate, and all kinds of other "holiday goodies". They are so versatile and delicious in every form I have ever tried - roasted in the shell, salted, ground into peanut butter, honey roasted, chocolate covered, spicy, boiled (a southern tradition), mixed into trail mix... this list could go on and on. At Clif Bar, we use quite a bit of peanut butter many of our products. The other day, I was sampling a variety of different peanut butters to try and choose the best ones for us to use. As I tasted them all, I was enjoying the subtle flavor differences between them…

Nibbling CLIF Nectar (for free)

So, this blog thing is OK, right? We blah-blah-blah about life here and you get to read about it. Pretty standard stuff. But, wouldn't you like to taste it, too? Besides being readers, you're eaters. (I hope.); Eating is what this office is all about. We have a pretty much endless supply (thanks to Chris T's tending) of bars and gels and things to satiate our stomachs should we get hungry. Erika and R&D share stuff they're working on in the kitchen. Just yesterday, I tasted two variations of my favorite MOJO flavor. So here's the deal: every now and…
