On the road with Marina and Kristian

Kristian's back with another update from his travels up the coast... Well Marina and my great adventure continued from San Diego into the huge metropolitan area of Los Angeles. For our small-city Berkeley ways, we were definitely two fish out of water. I must say Marina did quiet well managing me through the vast highway systems and interconnecting city streets. We did end up accidentally driving onto a movie set, but I'll take the blame for that one. Throughout our travels we've seen a lot of smiling faces, a couple of celebrities, met some amazing people, filled up with Bio-Diesel…

Happy Earth Month

Even though Earth Month is wrapping up, these are a few simple things that are still relevant. And don't believe the hype—the little things really do matter. All you've got to do is start here.... Keep recycling and reduce plastic use if possible—still one of the things we can each do to have an enormous collective impact. Change those lightbulbs—cfl’s are still better—the mercury comes in very tiny amounts, our energy use comes in very large amounts. The Ghost of Joey Ramone

Oh Erik and his mind games...A ghost? Perhaps. Perhaps not. It was, after all, quite a blustery day down at Sea Otter. It's not every day your ragtag three piece blues/punk/funk outfit gets asked to jam on the top of the 2 Mile Challenge bus during the Clif Bar party at Sea Otter. And when you throw in the fact that Clif Founder/Owner Gary Erickson had offered to sit in on the trumpet during the gig, it was an offer we couldn't refuse. And, despite gale-force winds that forced us to play more like under the bus rather than on…

Earth Day Reflections from Dean

It's April 22nd, and you know what that means? Earth Day! This last weekend, there were so many different celebrations happening around town, it's only natural that we have an entry documenting the festivities—and what better town to feature than Berkeley itself? Dean, our trusty PR guy and enviro guru shares a little something from the weekend. For the first time in years, I thought I'd check out an official Earth Day celebration, what with global climate change putting the environment back on front pages. So I dropped in this past weekend on Berkeley's Earth Day celebration, likely the largest…
