Andy Mac to compete at X Games 14
The 14th X Games start up this week in LA, and as always, they are sure to supply a year’s worth of extreme entertainment in just 4 insane days. Clif Bar may not be the first company that comes to mind when the subject of extreme sports pops up, but we do occasionally like to get our board, skate or BMX on.

One of the things we are most proud of here at the Team Clif Bar world headquarters is our relationship with Andy MacDonald. For those of you not in the know, Andy is a legend in the world of skateboarding: He’s a 7-time winner of the World Cup overall combined title, the 1998 winner of the Transworld Readers Poll for the Best Overall Skater, a world-class trampoliner, and he can train a puppy like it’s nobody’s business. Sometimes he wears a suit.

Obviously, Andy is a pretty busy guy. But, somehow, he still finds time to help out in the community. In fact, Andy was recently selected to receive the American Hero award by the Fresh Air Fund based on the amount of work he does to point young folks in a positive direction in life. Andy donates a ton of time and equipment in order to give skateboard clinics to under-privileged youths all across the land. \Andy is a great role model and pretty neat in our book, and we are glad to have him on board the TCB roster.

If you want to check out Andy in action, here is the schedule for his events (all times Pacific):

Skateboard Big Air: Thursday, July 31, 5:45
Skateboard Vert: Saturday, August 2, 5:45pm
Skateboard SuperPark: Sunday, August 3, 12:30pm

Happy extreme-ing!
