This game report just came my way from Adrian Mateo of Clif Bar Team Lacrosse. As some of you know I’ve got a soft spot for lacrosse. It’s a fantastic sportfull of action and all sorts of fun stuff. We’ve had an under-the-radar lacrosse program running out of Clif Bar & Co for some time now, so in ’08 it just made sense to make things more official. Here’s the first Clif Bar Team Lacrosse blog entry. Enjoy. You heard it right, the newest addition to Team Clif Bar, Clif Bar Team Lacrosse, kicked off their 2008 season on Tuesday night beating UC Davis 9-0. This was the team’s first ever collegiate match, as they continue to grow their exposure and look for new challengers outside the Northern California Lacrosse Association, their regular season league.
The game was held on Dairy Field on the UCD campus in all the wonderful glory that can be imagined playing downfield of the campus feed yard. 18 players made the journey to Davis including 6 new additions to the 2008 roster. The team produced an excellent, well balanced and distributed game with each of the 9 goals coming from different players, 3 of which (Pat Bird, Brian Kelly, Ted Blackburn) were the player’s first career Clif Bar goals.
Behind the offense, the defensive unit put together a solid, full game effort anchored by a Clif Shot and Peet’s coffee fueled performance from goalie Mike Wood. All told, he stymied at least 16 UC Davis shots including a point blank save in the last minute of the game enroute to his 1st career shut out for Clif Bar.
It is now time for the team to evaluate all aspects of their game and performance in Davis to prepare for League play in pursuit of capturing their 1st league title. The team’s first league game is scheduled for Saturday March 22nd versus divisional foe the Palo Alto Ducks in Palo Alto, with road trips to Sacramento and San Diego to follow. The home opener is scheduled for Saturday April 19th at the Marin School in Sausalito.

Team Clif Bar rules! I hope they continue to dominate.
Nicely done! Clif Bar’s involvement in the community has always been a draw for me, and these types of things just solidify that. WTB!
there is no information on the dark chocolate walnut or any other dark chocolate kind of nectar bar on this website and I’m curious why this information is not available. one of the ingredients on the wrapper is “Organic Unsweetened Chocolate” but it doesn’t list any further ingredients http://www.orgu.in
