Going strong--an update from Team CLIF BAR
Pat Bush at Sea OtterWe know you're wondering what all of CLIF BAR's sponsored athletes are up to these days. Well, wonder no more. Go ahead and grab a nice brisk bottle of Cran-Razz Electrolyte, and sit back with a little recap from the Team. Ahh, sounds quite refreshing, really...

Triathlete Becky Lavelle continues her rampage, taking 1st at Escape from Alcatraz, St. Anthony’s Triathlon and just recently at Vineman Half Ironman.

TIAA-CREF Cycling Team's Brad Huff won the 1st and 2nd stage of the Tour de Normandie. At the 2006 U23 US National Championship Road Race in Seven Springs, PA Craig Lewis worked with teammate Tom Peterson to bridge up to the winning break.  From there Craig soloed in to victory. Back in 2004 Craig was nearly killed when he was hit by a vehicle during the Tour of Georgia.  He suffered two collapsed lungs and almost 40 busted bones. Winning the U23 National Championship Road Race marks a truly amazing comeback for the 21-year-old rider.

Having graced our media center with his Aussie charm back in May, Triathlete Chris McCormack wasted no time in claiming 3 consecutive 1st place Ironman wins: the Ford Ironman 70.3 Honolulu, 70.3 UK ½ and Roth Ironman, Germany. Not to say his way was paved by any means. Arriving in the UK on race day to find his bike stolen, he had to race on a borrowed bike that was far too small, and in road (not time trial) set-up.  His fourth Roth IM win was achieved despite a flat tire.

Comeback time!  Just ten months after giving birth to her first child (Tyson), Lori Bowden proved she can be a mom and an Ironman Champion with a remarkable 2nd place finish at Ironman Austria.

Cyclist Fast Freddie Rodriguez had a rough Tour de France, crashing out of the race with an injured wrist. Prior to the TdF Freddie was riding well—he zoomed away with the points jersey in the Tour of Georgia and dropped off a signed jersey for us to hang on the wall. Freddie’s now preparing to race the Tour of Spain and the World Championships in September. We’ll see Freddie at the Clif Booth during Interbike where he’ll be sampling his Fast Freddie Coffee and signing Shot-logo’d coffee mugs.

And lastly, here’s a nice podium shot from Fast Freddie's race at Georgia.
