- Happy Belated Birthday, Cliff
Gary's dad Cliff Erickson just turned 80 years-young and we toasted him with some yummy birthday cake and a rousing chorus of "Happy Birthday" by all 150 employees at last week's Thursday morning meeting. He's the guy for whom CLIF BAR energy bars are named. 
CLIF BAR is spelled with one "f" because when the bar's packaging was developed, it was felt one "f" just looked better. Over the years, Cliff has occasionally taken to signing his name as "Clif."
If you've ever called our offices, you've heard him: "Thank you for calling CLIF BAR. This is Cliff speaking. No, really, this is Cliff..."
I'm trying to get him to record my own voicemail, but no luck yet.
