John Morrison Touches Base Between Summits
There are very few people that get after it in the backcountry like Team CLIF BAR member John Morrison. Though now up to ears in powder again, here is a first-hand account from some of his January excursions into the great Eastern Sierra.

Mendehall From BMor - From John Morrison

January's run of high pressure in California has made it a month to remember for back country skiing and ski mountaineering in the High Sierra. Clear skies and stable weather made tagging peaks and skiing amazing lines a breeze. The incredible powder conditions early in the month were replaced by equally enjoyable corn snow conditions.

Coverage is holding strong and I'm off again tonight to send a few more Sierra giants in the coming days. Check out the attached video from the Mendenhall Couloir on Mt. Laurel for a peek at just one of the month's many runs.
