- New Product Alert!
Be on the look out for our newest product—LUNA Sunrise, a new bar created with morning nutrition in mind. Sunrise should be showing up on store shelves very soon (if they haven't already). LUNA Sunrise is different from a regular LUNA bar; it has multiple layers, each with their own distinct flavor and texture. It's been a challenging bar to make so I hope you like it!
There are some new ingredients in it like quinoa (my favorite grain), amaranth and barley that make the bar a good source of whole grains. They also provide a nice texture and help keep you satisfied for a good, long time.
While I'm on the subject of grains, I'd like to say a little something about quinoa. If you haven't heard of it, it's pronounced “Keen-wa." It originates in the Andes mountains, although now it's grown in the US and Canada. Quinoa's packed with power—it's a complete protein, high in fiber and contains good fats.
Another reason I love it—it cooks quickly! In just 20 minutes, you have a delicious, nutritious, fluffy accompaniment to your main dish. Here's a quick recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 c quinoa
- 2 c water
Directions:
- Rinse quinoa under running water for several minutes.
- Bring 2 c water to a boil.
- Add quinoa to boiling water.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 20—25 minutes until fluffy and all of water is gone.
- Voila! Serve as you would rice.
Okay, back to the original subject…LUNA Sunrise. Check it out on the LUNA website or grab a bar at your local market and let me know what you think.
