New Product Alert!
LUNA Sunrise!Be on the look out for our newest product—LUNA Sunrise, a new bar created with morning nutrition in mind. Sunrise should be showing up on store shelves very soon (if they haven't already).

LUNA Sunrise is different from a regular LUNA bar; it has multiple layers, each with their own distinct flavor and texture. It's been a challenging bar to make so I hope you like it!

There are some new ingredients in it like quinoa (my favorite grain), amaranth and barley that make the bar a good source of whole grains. They also provide a nice texture and help keep you satisfied for a good, long time.

While I'm on the subject of grains, I'd like to say a little something about quinoa. If you haven't heard of it, it's pronounced “Keen-wa." It originates in the Andes mountains, although now it's grown in the US and Canada. Quinoa's packed with power—it's a complete protein, high in fiber and contains good fats.

Another reason I love it—it cooks quickly! In just 20 minutes, you have a delicious, nutritious, fluffy accompaniment to your main dish. Here's a quick recipe:

  • 1 c quinoa

  • 2 c water

  1. Rinse quinoa under running water for several minutes.

  2. Bring 2 c water to a boil.

  3. Add quinoa to boiling water.

  4. Reduce heat and simmer for 20—25 minutes until fluffy and all of water is gone.

  5. Voila!  Serve as you would rice.

Okay, back to the original subject…LUNA Sunrise. Check it out on the LUNA website or grab a bar at your local market and let me know what you think.
