- Sustainably shop ‘til you drop
It's that time of year again when we search high and low for the right gift for that special someone. I get so tired of the gift rat race. I like to give things that a person needs or wants. I know this approach isn't that extravagant, but at least I'm not just buying to buy.
This also means that I think more about the impact that the particular gift will have on the environment, which ends up making me feel good. These days, there's no shortage of gifts that give back in some way or another.
You know what comes next—http://www.grist.org="">the mother of all gift ideas. This one comes from our friends at Grist...from their readers of course. Geez, these folks are creative; everything from peace bonds to java from a cooperative.
Don't worry if making the jump from a video game to supporting the voyage of a baby sea turtle to the sea doesn't happen this year. Just take a look and see what's out there. When the time is right for you to mix it up a bit, you will.
