Going Wild

We like films and we like the environment. Put ‘em together and you have a match made in heaven—the Wild and Scenic Film Festival—an event known for its blend of film, activism, truth and community. As a proud national partner, we hosted our very own festival here at Clif Bar a few months ago and now it’s time for the official kick-off of the 2010 season. From January 15-17th, South Yuba River Citizens League will host their 8th annual Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival in Nevada City. Good news is that you can help kick it off and…

Hula Hooping + Taco Truck + Environment?

A few weeks ago we hosted a little party at Clif Bar & Company to benefit the Access Fund—the Wild & Scenic Environmental Film Festival. It was an evening of controlled chaos. To start with, we had Timmy O’Neill—legendary climber, filmmaker, drummer, passion monger and rabble rouser—emceeing the event. And because we love a small dose of healthy competition, we had Ro-Sham-Bo… and Foos Ball… and lots of prizes. Oh, and of course, a taco truck to keep us energized. And so, we joined forces to help reduce the number of energy bar wrappers ending up in the landfill. They’ve created a whole slew of products made from our wrappers. Stylie (and scrumptious) totes,…

IM Arizona & Some Heated Family Football—Holiday Season Success on Two Fronts

On Sunday, Nov 22nd, while I was mentally preparing for the undeniable riskiness of the annual Thanksgiving family football game, concerned that one of my border-line-sinister tennis-playing cousins would prematurely end my 2010 cycling season months before it even began, TCB triathlete Linsey Corbin finished 2nd at Ironman Arizona. While I was concerned about simply making it to Thanksgiving dinner in one piece, Linsey was focused on things more hopeful—like setting a new IM Arizona run course record and finishing the race with a new personal IM best. When it was all said and done, things ended up pretty…

Austin Team LUNA Chix Takes on Waco

Don’t mess with Texas, especially Clif Bar Texas Field Marketing Rep Whitney Nelson. She’s been ripping it up on the mountain bike trails with members of Austin’s Team LUNA Chix. Check out her recent account of a day out on the trails below… The annual Ride Cameron Park! women’s mountain biking clinic happens every year around mid-November in Waco, Texas and this event has become one of my absolute favorites! It’s a weekend full of female mountain bikers coming together to have a good time, learn new skills and make new friends. I rode up with Stephanie Childs, one…
