Sugar Sweet

According a recent survey of Americans, the first nutrient to get your attention when reading food labels is the Total Sugar. We all know we need to limit intake of sugar but many aren’t so certain about what “limit” means. What's too much? After surveying my label-reading-friends, I found most have arbitrary numbers all over the board in mind. I like using common sense when it comes to sugar. For example, if it takes honey on your toast to get you to eat whole grain bread, enjoy a dab and add a dab of butter while you are at it.…

Crossroads Classic Racing in NC

Here’s a quick check-in from North Carolina. Eric and I are out here at the Crossroads Cycling Classic for six nights of racing. Our teammate Jeff made the trip too to join the mix in the 8:45pm high-humidity action under the lights of towns around the Charlotte area. The first couple days have been a tad rough. Eric’s Orbea bicycle got damaged in shipping and the airline's claims department told him that because he didn’t report the damage in the first four hours they weren’t responsible. Clif Bar may not be the first company that comes to mind when the subject of extreme sports pops up, but we do occasionally like to get our board, skate or BMX on. One of the things we are most proud of here at the Team Clif Bar world headquarters is our relationship with Andy MacDonald. For those of you not in the know, Andy is a legend in the world…

Viva la 2MC!

During this holiest of professional cycling months, as most velojos (Spanish for cycling-focused eyes; duh) are affixed upon Le Peloton de Le Tour closing in on the famous roads of the Champs Elyses, lest we forget about some other notable roads in the cycling world. Shannon, 2 Mile Challenge ambassador extraordinaire, checks in from Le 2MC Tour after a great weekend along the famed cobblestones of Iowa at RAGBRAI. RAGBRAI, baby! The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa is the world’s longest and oldest touring bike ride, and the riders we have seen here have been so awesome! This…
