Montrail Ultra team begins season with a bang

Most folks recognize the Montrail name as the leaders in performance trail running and hiking footwear. But, what some people might not realize as that Montrail also fields one of the best ultra running teams in the world. In fact, when I need to purchase a new pair of kicks, I simply phone them up and they have an athlete run them to me from their offices 5 miles up the road. Of course, that doesn’t really happen…don’t be ridiculous. But, it could happen. And most of their athletes could run back and forth between our offices about 8…

Mr. Jones goes to Washington

In an attempt to give representatives in congress a different view of global climate change, eight-time Big Mountain Snowboarder of the Year (and Team Clif Bar athlete) Jeremy Jones traveled to Washington last week to meet with key mountain states lawmakers, screen the short film Generations, and shred the infamous Nixon Chute on Capitol Hill. What possesses us to stay outside after setting…

While we’ve been dodging urban waterfalls and navigating flooded sidewalks here in NorCal, Kenny Souza, Field Marketing Manager for San Diego/Arizona, has been running around and rocking out in the Arizona sunshine. Read on to check out his moves… What could be more fun than running 26.2 miles with 29,865 of your best friends? It’s a trick question because the answer is NOTHING! The P.F. Chang’s Rock and Roll Arizona Marathon and Half-Marathon is the largest combined half and full in the world, and on January 17th nearly thirty thousand people showed why this event is so popular…a great…

Troy Wells’ Well of Knowledge—New Year in Belgium

While Eric & I have been working to usher in the New Year here in Berkeley at the Team Clif Bar lair, TCB Cyclocrosser Troy Wells has been hanging out in Belgium, likely eating most of that country’s food. Considering that Troy’s probably chowing down on all the tasty grub to be had there, it’s really a wonder that he’s racing at all. Here’s a list (courtesy of belgium.angloinfo.com) of what Troy’s up against when he sits down at the meal counter: Smoutebollen: A fried pastry served hot on street stalls especially at fairs and festivals Boudin Blanc &…
