Team Clif Bar athlete Stephanie Howe is remarkable: She didn't set out to be a runner but after doing a race on a whim she discovered a talent and passion she didn't know she had. She’s now a professional ultrarunner, all the while getting her PhD and managing her own coaching business. At the end of this month, she'll be facing one of her greatest athletic challenges to date, racing in the Western States 100. We wanted to know what got her into running in the first place, how she fuels, what she's looking forward to and how she's preparing for the hot temperatures she'll be facing while running 100 miles from Squaw Valley to Auburn, California.
