When should CLIF SHOT ROKS be eaten?

What are the benefits of dairy-based proteins?

Dairy-based proteins, especially whey protein, are rapidly absorbed, soluble and easy to digest. They also offer high levels of essential amino acids making them an ideal protein source for muscle recovery immediately/shortly following activity.

How are CLIF SHOT ROKS different than protein bars or drinks?

Immediately following a hard workout, protein bars may be too much to eat at one time or can be messy/melted. Also, with the preparation required, powdered protein drinks are often not very convenient or portable. SHOT ROKS allow you to customize your intake depending on your workout, protein needs, etc. Plus they have a protective shell so they won’t melt in the packet or in your hands.

Do any CLIF SHOT ROKS flavors contain caffeine?

No, all three flavors are caffeine-free.

Are CLIF SHOT ROKS certified kosher?

Yes, they are certified Kosher Dairy by Orthodox Union.

What is the shelf life of CLIF SHOT ROKS?

CLIF SHOT ROKS are guaranteed 12 months from the time they are packed. You can find the Best By date on the back of the package. We guarantee the product until that date.

Can I eat too much protein?

Protein, and the amino acids present in them, are necessary for healthy muscle building and repair. The information below will help you determine how much protein you need daily based on your age, activity level and body weight*:

• Current RDA for Sedentary Adult = 0.4 grams/lb
• Adult Recreational Exerciser = 0.5-0.75 grams/lb
• Adult Competitive Athlete = 0.6-0.9 grams/lb
• Growing Teenage Athlete = 0.9-1.0 grams/lb
• Adult Building Muscle Mass = 0.7- 1.0 grams/lb
• Athlete Restrictive Calorie Meal Plan = 0.7-1.0 grams/lb
• Maximum Usable Amount of Protein for Adults = 1.0-1.5 grams/lb

Can I use CLIF SHOT ROKS, Energy Gel, Electrolyte Drink, Recovery Drink, and SHOT BLOKS® together?

All of these products can play key roles in performance athletics. CLIF SHOT Electrolyte Drink provides needed fluid and electrolyte replacement, while both Gel and BLOKS provide concentrated and easily digested sources of energy and electrolytes, primarily BEFORE and DURING exercise. CLIF SHOT ROKS and Recovery Drink provide the right blend of proteins and carbohydrates for the POST-exercise recovery window. Every athlete is unique and should experiment with balancing the various benefits of these products in training.

Can CLIF SHOT ROKS be used in cold and hot weather?

In cold conditions, CLIF SHOT ROKS get slightly firmer. However, once popped into your mouth, they become soft, chewable and can be eaten as normal. In hot conditions, CLIF SHOT ROKS get slightly softer, but do not melt. We wrapped them in a protective shell so they won’t melt in your hands, bag or the packet.

What is confectioner’s glaze?

Confectioner's glaze is a clear, all-natural coating used to protect the quality and taste of SHOT ROKS. It is food-grade, wax-free natural "Lac." Lac is the generic name of the natural resin gathered by the Lac beetle. Confectioner’s glaze is to beetles what honey is to bees.

Are CLIF SHOT ROKS Vegetarian?  Vegan?

There is no meat, fish, poultry or egg in CLIF SHOT ROKS, and is therefore suitable for vegetarians. CLIF SHOT ROKS, however, are not vegan. They contain whey and milk proteins, derived from cow’s milk. Also, the protective shell contains confectioner's glaze, made from a natural resin gathered by the Lac beetle. Confectioner’s glaze is to beetles what honey is to bees.

Are CLIF SHOT ROKS Certified Organic?

Only natural ingredients are used in CLIF SHOT ROKS. 46-49% are certified organic. (The USDA requires a minimum of 95% organic ingredients for a product to be certified organic.) In the future we will strive to increase the % organic to as high of a level as possible.
