CLIF C is a new, double layered fruit and nut bar made with all natural and organic ingredients that bring a delicious blend of flavors and textures to every bite. The nut crust on the bottom is a blend of almonds, macadamias and dates and each bar is topped with a second layer of fruit and then sprinkled with toasted almonds.
CLIF C bars are 70 percent organic and made with all natural fruits, nuts and sea salt.
Clif C contains one serving of fruit in each bar. Each bar has 130 calories, 4.5 grams of fat and is a good source of fiber.
CLIF C is a great tasting snack for any time of day. Grab one for breakfast when you’re on your way out the door or toss one in your bag for an afternoon snack when you need a pick me up.
CLIF was determined to make a great tasting fruit and nut snack bar by blending a moist, chewy crust with the natural taste of baked fruit and crunchy roasted nuts.
Not only do nuts give CLIF C a distinctive flavor, but they also contain a healthy amount of monounsaturated and poly-unsaturated fat which is the better-for-you fat. Consuming daily and moderate portions of nuts, such as the portion in a CLIF C, is recommended as part of a healthy diet.
CLIF C is not raw.
While Clif Bar & Company supports the concept of the raw food diet, we also understand some of the concerns around eating raw food. Raw seeds and nuts contain compounds known as enzyme inhibitors. Enzyme inhibitors make digestion of these foods much more difficult for us. This is one of the benefits to eating roasted nuts, since the enzyme inhibitors are destroyed during the roasting process. To destroy these compounds, raw foodists generally soak their nuts and seeds in water prior to eating.
We have chosen to use roasted nuts so that they will be more easily digested, while still getting the health benefits of these foods.
CLIF C bars are considered a "low glycemic" food due to the balance of carbohydrate, fat, protein, fiber, and portion size. Glycemic Index (GI) can be a great tool for fine-tuning the carbohydrate choices in your meal plan, but it shouldn't be your exclusive consideration for whether or not to include certain foods in your daily meal plans.
As part of our journey towards sustainability, Clif Bar and Company is committed to sourcing ingredients that are not genetically engineered in all of our products. We use strict protocols including careful sourcing practices and written certification from suppliers to ensure the ingredient meets our non GMO requirements.
CLIF C uses just a pinch of salt to enhance the fruit and nut flavors in the bars. Each bar contains just 1 percent of an adult’s recommended daily allowance of sodium. CLIF C is a healthy snack alternative to other snack foods like potato chips and crackers that are typically high in sodium.
