In 2010 Greg Hill set out to find his limits in ski mountaineering. Armed with little more than his essential gear, including a healthy stash of CLIF BAR and CLIF SHOT products, and an occasional crazy partner or two, Greg climbed and skied more than 2 million vertical feet in the calendar year.

Earning each of his turns along his journey, Greg summited 71 peaks in 5 countries. An accomplishment unmatched in the world of top performance climbers and ski mountaineers, this Team

This January in particular has been more like JUNE-uary in some parts of the world. Team CLIF Bar skier Jenn Berg has no problem finding a good time in the mountains no matter what the conditions.  Below Jenn gives us a glimpse of what she has been up to and reminds us all that life truly is about perspective. When life serves up snow, we ride POW; and when the sun shines (and the snow is tough to find), there's nothing like a mountain bike ride in the middle of winter.

Clif Bar congratulates Team Clif rider Reef McIntosh on his recent win at the 2012 Da Hui Backdoor Shootout.  Not only is this Reef's first win, but this one came right out in front of his house at Pipe.  Talk about keeping it local.....no doubt that's what Reef plans to do as contemplates how best to manage the $30K he just earned for the win.

Team CLIF rider Lars Sternberg shared this video with us in which he takes his trail bike to some places bikes have never been before.  Well, maybe they have been there, but nobody knows about it.  I guess they didn't have a film crew.  Just hiking some of this stuff looks treachourous enough - add in a significant amount of speed and it must just get more tough.  Check out those roots!  Get rowdy!

This time of year, it seems everyone has a Best Of list or reader’s poll to celebrate the previous year’s achievements.   UltraRunning Magazine announced the results of their poll, and Team CLIF runners nabbed both the men and women’s top places with Dave Mackey and Ellie Greenwood being named North American ultra runners of the year.

Dave had a solid year, claiming 5 victories including the Miwok 100K, the country’s largest 100K race.
