On the Road with Solitaire Episode III: The Raptor

Just as I was starting to wonder when the next episode of On the Road with Solitaire would bless us with its presence... BAM! It blows onto my desktop like a breath of fresh Andean air! Here's another amazing installment from our fine friends at Sweetgrass Productions. With 12 shorts coming our way in this kind of quality, I can only imagine what the full-length film is going to deliver! Enjoy On the Road with Solitaire III: The Raptor.

Benchetler and the Boys Killing it in AK

It's no secret -- AK can either make or break your career...and your wallet. You either get to sit for weeks throwing money into the rotor blades, not skiing and learning a lot about patience and solitude, or in this case you fly up and score the minute you step off the plane.

Benchetler and the Boys Killing it in AK 1

There's no denying how lucky we just got it up there. Eric Pollard, myself (Chris Benchetler), and Bryce Phillips just returned home from an epic trip to Haines, Alaska. We went up on an open ended ticket

High Times on Big Spring Lines

You might recall the last time that Team CLIF BAR ski mountaineer John Morrison and Christian Pondella came to life together on the Team CLIF site. For a tiny refresher, it was the INCREDIBLE HULK story. No small feat in itself; skiing both couloirs of the Incredible Hulk back to back with Team Clif Telemark skier Lorenzo Worster and Nate Greenberg. With the inspiration that only another great day in the sierra high country can bring, this dynamic duo teamed up once again, this time with their sights set on the ever illusive Split Couloir on Split Mountain 14,058'. Read on to get a taste of the adventure in Johns' words and all the photography love coming from none other than Christian himself.

Massive Amounts of Snow - Mike Basich Digs Out

If you are a snowboarder, you are, no doubt, familiar with Mike Basich and his legendary exploits. After all, the dude helped pioneer the sport in the 80s, riding competitively at the highest level for years, then switching gears and taking snowboarding into the backcountry.

Mike Basich - Cabin 5

And Mike continues to push the envelope today in just about everything he does. A superb craftsman, Mike no longer relies on others to create things he needs. He built his snowshoes out of old road signs,

This is Skiing!

Over the course of the last year, I have had the pleasure of getting to know Nick Waggoner and his partners at Sweetgrass Productions. They are truly incredible individuals with a vision unlike any others in the world of film today. It's an honor to be in involved with helping them to bring this project to life...from the desk Clif Bar where I sit, working for this one of a kind organization that aims to share the love right back through bringing beauty and vision full circle to feed
