Race Across America

Dylan:

Have you heard the news? Looks like Clif Bar has put a team together for the Corporate Race Across America – which is actually only Race Across Part of America, as we’ll be starting in San Diego and ending up in Flagstaff.  Looks like we’ve got a fine crew of lads willing to attempt this rather nutty feat – check out the cast of characters at http://www.raceacrossamerica.org/files/raam2005/riders/Team%20Clif%20Bar_2005.htm.  Yup, somehow my teammate Eric and I got involved in

Barcelounger is my co-pilot

Sitting at home today, sick.  My little 2 1/2 year-old virus transportation unit wins this round and I’m down for the count - recovering as quickly as I can in hopes of being in a race-worthy state by Sunday.

This morning, as I sat in the comfort of my worn black leatherette barcelounger I thought a bit about how it’s been quite a rough start to the race season this year.  Not sure what’s up, but things aren’t going as planned.  My barcelounger has helped me through tough times in the

LUNA Chix Triathlete Desiree Ficker took second at Ralph’s Half Ironman in mid-March and three weeks

Wind, Water, Brie and Me

OK, so I survived. That half Ironman I mentioned a few posts ago, the one I thought might kill me. Yah, well it didn’t kill me after all.

Wildflower 2005 has come and gone and ‘twas another great weekend of stellar people, sun, camping and of course the obligatory swimming, biking, running…sweating, drooling and dizziness. I find anytime those 6 things occur in the same day, you’ve really got something.

Arrived plenty early on Friday and found the ‘least slanty’ spot I could find

Mavericks Surf, NBC and Pride

Amidst general ‘doings’ in the city this weekend, I attended a sponsor party (airing party) at Hard Rock Cafe SF, for the Maverick’s surf contest we sponsored back in March. Nice to see that thing get big time air, on NBC Sports. Clif got a couple nice logo shots (thanks Zach! Zach Wormhoudt is one of our athletes and took 4th overall – Rock On!) and the comp looked great. We were out on a boat in the line-up on the day of, watching the cresting 40’ pounders up close. Absolutely amazing
