Josh Daiek Takes Freeskiing Championships at Kirkwood

Back in November I received an email from longtime Team CLIF BAR snowboarder and all-around badass Rose Daiek, asking me if I would consider her brother, Josh, for skiing sponsorship. She wrote, "Thanks for checking out Josh - he's got a sick video. He's been base jumping a lot. He's got double fronts off of Lover's Leap. So sick. If you can give him some food, great. If not, he'll try next year."

Because I didn't really know what any of that meant, I just sent him a contract.

Squaw Boys Ski The North Shore of Jackson Hole

Some people like to ski, and some people need to ski. For most of us, a few weeks of sunny weather and no precip in the middle of winter means we switch gears and ride bikes, run, whatever we need to do to get outdoors and enjoy the sun. For guys like Miles Clark, however, not skiing is simply not an option. And, with Northern California recently experiencing weeks of unseasonably warm and dry conditions, rendering the snow in Tahoe almost unbearable for those who like it steep and

Kessler Leads Amazing Six-Hour Trainer Ride for Charity

A few months back I received some not-so-constructive feedback based on a past blog post in which I suggested some creative ways of training for cyclists with little spare time. If you read the Clif Blog and took it seriously, it might seem like our CLIF Shot Brand Manager regularly forces his kids to eat in a dank, dark garage while he spins away for hours on his stationary trainer.

So, in an effort to reverse the effect of that post, I'm now writing a story that will show

Get Your Stage-Race On! - Stage Races in March

Murrieta, Madera, San Dimas and Redlands headline California's March stage-race madness! Those of you who managed to stay awake through 10th grade Lit are likely to remember the soothsayer's eerie warning to Julius Caesar: "Beware the Ides of March." But, old Bill Shakespeare wouldn't have been so freaked out by the month had he lived in California. And been a bike racer.

For March in California means stage racing...and there are some good ones on the calendar this year. As most

Barry Lewis Named 2010 USAT Masters Duathlete of the Year

When USA Triathlon announced their 2010 Age Group Athletes of the Year last week, we were stoked to see long-time Team CLIF BAR member Barry Lewis take the top spot as Masters Duathlete of the Year. The pride and joy of Philadelphia's multisport community, Lewis has been on our roster longer than just about anyone. In fact, he precedes my stint here in the Team Clif command center by a few years, and I I've been here since the last time the Eagles lost the Super Bowl. Coincidence? Who cares?
