DAY EIGHT

A beautiful, clear crisp morning; the views are spectacular. After saying goodbye to Mario and a couple of his buddies with cool felt hats, see photo, we headed up to finish the Passo Croce Dominii.

What a climb; we were even happier finding Mario’s Albergo after another nearly 3,000 feet of climbing. It would have been real touch and go

DAY SEVEN
30 something! Not my age and not the television series from the 80s.

Rather, “30 something” was the temperature we woke up to. Not only that, it was snowing on the Passo Stelvio which was to be our first pass of the day as our plan was to head north, over the Stelvio, skirt around the boarder of Switzerland and cross into Austria.

DAY SIX

Whoa, today I looked out the window as soon as I got up and it wasn’t what I had hoped for.

Rain, and lots of it.

Through breakfast I could still see rain; it was very cold and just miserable. We got ready for our ride, hoping it would break. It actually did lighten up so off we went to climb my favorite pass-the Passo Gavia.

DAY FIVE

Looked out the window the second I got up to check the weather, and it was spectacular-clear as a bell. Cold but at least it was dry.

It’s another spectacular day in the Dolomites.

We started on an amazing bike-only trail from Cavalese to the Passo Valles, then went on to the Passo Pellegrino.
