Natural Energy Tour--Greetings from Virginia

the power of nature! What’s up CLIF Peeps?

Leaving Atlanta and with a few days to spend on the trails in Smoky Mountain National Park was like Led Zepplin playing in the Jackson Hole Tram on a huge powder day—we were stoked!

We spent our first afternoon hiking in the rain and taking in the views of navy-blue, misty mountains while walking through a tropical forest. Our plan was to keep hiking on busy trails for two days giving hungry hikers an extra snack. But we awoke to a tent full of water; with

Natural Energy Tour 2006!

NET Booth! The CLIF BAR Natural Energy Tour 2006 edition has begun !!! Having kicked off at the biggest, most eccentric music festival in all the land—Bonnaroo!!

After a couple weeks training and hanging out with all our feathered/duck billed and rubber booted friends in rainy Boston, we headed for Tennessee with a short stop to mountain bike at Snowshoe Resort in West Virginia. The crew was having fun with Kenny, yelling good-natured insults and ribbing comments over the P.A. of the follow vehicle.

I called the crew and asked them to pass the phone to Kenny. "I can’t wait to get off this &$^#&* bike," he offered. "This has been a

Following Kenny Souza on RAAM--Day 11

West Virginia here he comes! It’s been a good day for Kenny. Despite traveling through some of the most difficult terrain of the race, Kenny’s posting some of the highest average speeds "East of the Rockies."

I spoke with Gretchen at about 6:15 PM EDT. She gave me the inspiring update on Kenny’s progress. Last night Kenny and the crew stopped at the final time station with a mandatory 2-hour stop for Enduro riders. Bryce Walsh, who Kenny has been chasing for days was also stopped. Walsh took a short break then
