Five… Four… Three… Two…

Pro triathlete and Team Clif Bar athlete Linsey Corbin has been on a hot streak of late. After finishing fifth, fourth, third, and then second place consecutively in her last four triathlons, Linsey jokingly told us last week that “this can only mean first place is right around the corner.”

Hmmm...maybe she wasn’t joking…

The Victoria Half Ironman Triathlon is one of Canada’s most popular multisport events, drawing close to 600 athletes into the sold out field.  The event has a reputation for being super organized, incredibly scenic, and very fun. “The [Victoria] Half is very much a grassroots triathlon event where the entire Canadian triathlon community comes out to participate”, Linsey said. “Racing yesterday was a good reminder of why I started to race and how much fun there is to be had. A big thank you to the triathlon community for making me feel right at home!”

Showing off the fitness that she developed from competing in a ton of races so far this season, Linsey started strong, exiting the water in just over 28 minutes to put her in 3rd place after T1. After absolutely crushing the bike leg, she transitioned to the run with a 20 minute lead, allowing her to throw on her Sauconys and put it in cruise control for the rest of the race.  Linsey crossed the finish line first, in great spirits and proud of her accomplishment. “The volunteers, aid stations, and crowd support were amazing. It was great to cross the line in first place with a stellar time of 4 hours and 21 minutes!”

Next up for Linsey: Two more 70.3 triathlons during the summer, including Sonoma County’s ever-popular Vineman event. After that, it’s all about preparing for the World Championships at Kona in the fall.

Congrats and good luck, Linsey!
