There are not a whole lot of running events during the winter months. For obvious reasons. But if you are going to take on a winter-timed foot race why not go for it? That’s what Team Clif Bar Athlete Geoff Roes is doing. Geoff is currently running the Iditarod Trail Invitational. A 350 mile race across Alaska on foot. The race follows the famous Iditarod Trail. Participants are required to be self-sufficient, which means pulling a ‘sledge’ with all your gear and supplies. This year’s race has not only brought the typically cold Alaskan temps but lots of snow. The current course record set back in 2005 is 4 days and 15 hours. Wishing you all the best, Geoff! You can check out the race’s Facebook page for more info and the latest race updates.
