- Kessler Wins REV3 Portland!
It has been a trying last couple months for pro triathlete Meredith Kessler. The normally-resilient San Franciscan suffered her first and second-ever DNFs at St. George and Coeur d'Alene and earned a trip to the ER with severe dehydration along the way. Not exactly the results this Ironman winner is accustomed to. But, as is the case more often than not, when the weather gets a bit cooler, Meredith simply goes faster. Than everyone.
The Portland stop of the Revolution3 Triathlon Series provided Meredith with a great opportunity to show folks that not only is she one of the best up-and-coming triathletes in the country, but also an incredibly tough character who has no weak discipline. From the gun, Meredith was on top of her game, taking the lead in the swim and immediately putting an elite women's field on the defensive. Things just got worse for the rest of the field when Meredith transitioned to the bike, and she increased her lead by five minutes heading into the run. With a large lead at the second transition, all Meredith had to do was put in a solid run effort, which she did, winning the race by almost 6 minutes.
Congratulations, Meredith! We are so glad to see you back!
