- Syndicate Set to Turn 2010 Up to Eleven
If you know anything about the international downhill bike racing scene, you probably already know how dominant the Santa Cruz Syndicate has been for the last two seasons. But for those of you who don't know, here are the facts: 2008 UCI World Cup Overall Champion, 2008 World Junior Champion, 2009 World Champion, over a dozen World Cup victories, and the UCI #1 ranking for two years running. So, what do you do when your team has already won everything there is to win in your sport? Well, in the Syndicate's case, you make sure you re-sign your best riders, add a few cool new sponsors, and go even faster! For 2010, all the big names are back: 2009 World Champ Steve Peat, 11-time World Cup winner Greg Minnaar, and 2008 Junior World Champ Josh Bryceland will all be killing the downhill circuit for the Syndicate again this season. With Jamie Goldman rocking the freeride world and John Waddell covering the XC scene, the Syndicate family looks to be even stronger in 2010. n addition, the team will fbe rolling on some new gear, most notably some dope-ass carbon wheels from Edge Composites. Tres Sweet! The whole organization seems poised for even more success in the upcoming months. But, perhaps Josh Bryceland says it best: "I'm super-stoked to be spanking some shred with the raddest savages in the settlement!" Yep...he said that. Be on the lookout for the Syndicate riders pinning it on a gravity circuit near you in 2010. And for those of you lucky enough to reside in NorCal, stay tuned for info on our pre-Sea Otter Syndicate bash where the team will take on some of the toughest interview questions ever heard this side of Hayward.
