Team CLIF Runners Take On Transvulcania

Three Team CLIF runners competed in the Transvulcania ultramarathon on the island of La Palma, Spain.  Though not as well known as some of the other Canary Islands, La Palma was a beautiful setting for what was a very tough run that drew a truly world-class field of competitors.  Team Montrail and CLIF runner Dakota Jones took the win with an upset over favorite Kilian Jornet.

The North Face runner, fueled by CLIF, Ian Sharman claimed a very respectable 16th place, making up more than 10 spots on a blazing 8,000 foot descent.  Geoff Roes, also of Team Montrail and Team CLIF, was forced to abandon the race due to a stomach ailment.  This win is easily the highlight of Dakota’s young career, earning him a European following to match his growing US fan base.   Be sure to check out all the links below for compete race coverage.
