World Record Surf Session: 26 Hours and 147 Waves

It's very rare when a day goes by that the phone doesn't ring with somebody on the other end of the line gearing up for what guarantees to be an incredible adventure. And in order for that adventure to take place, that somebody is going to need food. Not just any food, but the kind of food that they can count on to help them through what's to come. They love that we're organic. They love that we're employee owned. They love that we care about the planet and the future of the places where we like to play. They love that our food is made by us, athletes and adventurers, just like them. But more than anything they love that our food tastes great and has just what they need (including the highest quality organic ingredients, portability and dependability) that will help them to meet their moment with confidence and bring them home safely with stories to tell. Strangely enough, or not so much, it's on these same days (and everyday for that matter) that the phone rings, and I sit on the other end of the line and wonder where my next adventure will take me.

A couple of weeks back, I received a call from a wild guy by the name of Bill Laity, whose plan was to embark on an endurance adventure of a lifetime. His goal; to set the World Record for the longest surf session. Needless to say, this was not one of those adventures that inspired me to think bigger; rather I thought about Bill and the fuel he would need to sustain this dream and do it in style. Looking back now, Clif Bar could not be more excited to have been a part of Bill's wild rides (for 26 hours straight and 147 waves surfed). And just a handful of days after the feat has come to fruition, the stories and the videos to tell the tale are here to follow. Congratulations Bill! I'm glad you called and that we could be there to help you reach your goal. I can't wait to hear about your next big idea and look forward to feeding your dreams in times to come. Be sure to have a closer look at the man behind the mission and the story of his success. And check out the video that brings it all to life.
