Tue, June 24 2008 - CLIF® BAR Feeds Team Garmin-Chipotle During Tour de France with Clean Sources of Natural Energy

BERKELEY, Calif., June 24, 2008 —Cycling’s “Clean Team” will take on the 2008 Tour de France burning clean, natural energy from CLIF® BAR’s all-natural and organic food and drinks line. Team Garmin-Chipotle presented by H30, one of only two American cycling teams invited to this year’s Tour de France, is on a mission to show the world that riders can succeed at the elite level and be 100 percent clean.

Since its inception, Team Garmin-Chipotle has been the standard bearer for untainted sports performance. Each of the team’s 25 riders will undergo combined voluntary testing at least 700 times throughout the 2008 season; 20 times the number of tests that most professional cyclists are subject to annually.

On race days, the team’s riders eat CLIF BAR energy bars and CLIF Mojo™ sweet and salty snack bars to begin storing energy a few hours before they compete. The 95th Tour de France runs from July 5-27, 2008, and is made up of 21 stages covering 3,500 kilometers (2,175 miles).
