Hig’s rise to the World Cup circuit has been nontraditional. While most elite alpine athletes defer college to compete full time, Hig chose to attend Middlebury College, where he graduated with a cum laude degree and two Division I All-American titles. Hig was selected to the U.S. Ski Team and soon began competing in the World Cup circuit. Thanks to his talent for speed and calculated risks, Hig is described as one of the most beautiful skiers to watch. He is a two-time national champion, and his goal is to become one of the world’s most elite Alpine skiers.
