"When you can encourage people to push themselves, you get to see them overcome their fear and hit a feature or trail, it's awesome!"
Andrew Shandro holds legitimate OG status when it comes to downhill mountain biking culture. He has witnessed the evolution of aggressive mountain biking like few others. Born and raised on the North Shore of British Columbia, he is a 2-time DH world cup champion, x-games gold medalist, and four time Canadian National DH Champion. It was on the coastal loam trails of BC that Andrew honed his craft. Besides finding success racing bikes, Andrew has also been the planning mastermind behind a number of World Cup downhill courses over the years.
Andrew Shandro By The Numbers
Now in his mid-forties, Andrew is still as active as ever in the sport he loves, these days as a coach for his wildly successful brainchild, Summer Gravity Camps; a program that fosters skills development for riders of all ages and abilities. Andrew’s son, Ethan, is a hard-charging rider in his own right. When not on or near bikes, Andrew can be found backcountry skiing or playing hockey.
