Jane Kibii was born in Moiben, Kenya and discovered running at an early age which was engrained in her hometown culture. Jane began competing in high school and honed in her skills as she climbed the ranks to the professional level. She is now regarded as one of the strongest Marathoners in the world. Jane currently calls Northern California her home-base when she is training state-side, but frequently goes back to Kenya to train in Iten, aka “Home of Champions”, where she is immersed in a culture that eats, sleeps, and breathes running.
Jane Kibii By The Numbers
The birth of my daughter was my proudest moment. She is a very happy child with a beautiful smile. She's a great blessing to me, and she always knows how to make me laugh (even when I don’t want to).
My favorite runner is Deena Kastor, the American record holder in the marathon. I met her for the first time at the Bay to Breakers 12k race in San Francisco in 2009. Deena signed by chest number for me before I finished 2nd at the Los Angeles Marathon in 2017.
