We’re not asking you to go find your first job, we’re asking you to go find an experience, to do something different with the first year of your post-graduate life, something that drives toward your purpose and can inform your future business career.
It could be an internship, a fellowship, a volunteer project, or even a gig at a mission-driven nonprofit - we’re intentionally leaving it open so you can tell us what will be meaningful to you.
Perhaps you’d like to volunteer with a non-profit to better understand the impacts of sustainable agriculture and the value in creating a more sustainable supply chain. Or maybe you’re interested in doing something education focused that you could later use to help inform how the tech industry can better support educators.
We know that inspiration can come from many places, so we’re leaving it up to you to identify whatever experience you think will make you a more purposeful business leader. We can’t wait to hear about your passions and career goals.
Applications will close January 25, 2019 at 3 pm CST.
Statistics show that students are graduating with an average of $37,172 in college debt. We think that’s a lot. This scholarship will award four recipients up to $37,172 toward paying down your student debt. Payments will be made directly to your loan provider following the completion of your 9-12 month experience.*
To help with your monthly expenses, we will also provide you with a $3,000/month stipend for the duration of your experience.*
Lastly, we want to help you explore connections between your experience and your future career and are going to offer up our Clif Bar team to support you. Clif Bar employees will commit to providing each recipient with up to 20 hours of mentoring for the duration of their experience. We think our roster of Clifsters is pretty rad and know they have great stories, so we hope you’ll enjoy getting to know them.
*Awards will be reported in full on IRS Form 1099 and it is the recipient’s responsibility to determine taxable amount [and pay any resulting tax liability]. It is recommended recipients seek advice from a qualified tax advisor or accountant.
