Behind Our Philosophy
Our organic food future starts with seed. But most organic food isn’t grown from seed bred for organic farming, and there are many industry pressures making organic seed hard to come by. That makes growing organic food more challenging. We’re committed to investing in research to give organic farmers the tools they need to be successful — now and in the future.
We believe that farming organically is the right thing to do — for the land, our people, and the planet. It’s better for the farmers and farming communities who grow our food and better for the families who enjoy our food. Organic farming practices avoid synthetic fertilizers and toxic, persistent pesticides; improve soil health; protect biodiversity and strictly prohibit the use of GMOs.
One of the ways we are trying to make a difference is through crafting our food with organic ingredients. We are proud to source from farms and families that produce organic ingredients. Our journey to use organic ingredients started more than 12 years ago and over the course of those years we’ve invested in over 750 million pounds of organic ingredients to craft our products.
