How would you describe what you do to someone who knows nothing about Clif Bar or your role?
Clif products are made with Organically sourced ingredients with minimal processing. My job is making sure that all ingredients going into making a Clif product, are safe to consume!
I work closely with our ingredient manufacturing facilities to make sure that food safety is not an after thought but is built in each step in the process starting from procuring their raw ingredients.
I get to learn, and sometimes I get to teach, but there is never a dull day.
What do you love most about working at Clif Bar?
Company culture… it lets me be me! I was new to the country when I joined Clifbar 12 years back. I was blown away by Clifbar’s commitment to community and planet and became a fan when I saw Clifbar ‘walking the talk’ again and again!! It helped me shape my value system as well!
Last but not least, I love my job, my team. I KNOW that what me and my team does, makes our food safer.
What are your interests and passions outside of work?
My family is my passion and my inspiration in everything I do. Me and my husband Anup, have 2 boys Aaditya (13) and Abhinav (11). We all have 2 things in common that we absolutely love… Eating and Travelling
Thankfully, to support the first love, I love cooking. I love trying new recipes and blending different cuisine styles. Kitchen is like a clean canvas for me and creating harmony among ingredients that I use is something I enjoy a lot!
We love travelling, there is no better way to connect with yourself and your loved ones then travelling. Thankfully there is no shortage of destinations!
What is one of your most memorable food experiences?
I grew up in northern part of India. Summers there can be harsh even for locals! I remember that in my high school when I would get home afternoon, my mom would have something comforting and healthy food made and ready for me just in time I got home! I still feel nostalgic when I think of some of those foods like ‘Tehri’ which is a recipe in which rice and seasonal veggies is cooked together in mild spices.. it’s like a cheaper cousin of biryani.
What has been or will be your greatest adventure?
I love being a daughter, sister, friend and wife, but there is no other adventure like being a mother! It is a total roller-coaster ride with unpredictable swings and turns!
