When it comes to snacking, your body deserves more than just a tasty treat, it needs high-quality energy too. Caffeinated beverages and sweets may give an instant energy jolt, but a snack with more staying power combines key nutrients (like fiber and protein) and wholesome, delicious, real food ingredients.
So, if building a nutritious snack, start with foods or packaged snacks made with nutritious ingredients that you recognize. CLIF® Granola is loaded with hearty clusters of simple, whole food ingredients like organic oats, almonds, cashews, seeds and dried fruit. Plus, each bowl delivers 8g of plant-based protein and a good source of fiber (8-10g total fat per 2/3 cup serving) to help curb your hunger and keep you going.
Granola is great for snacking right out of the bag or pairs perfectly with yogurt or your favorite milk. But I’m upping the granola game to keep your taste buds energized.
CLIF® Granola is baked with wholesome ingredients to deliver a rich, crunchy texture and tempting flavors, making them perfect for recipe creation. Check out my tasty granola recipe hacks that are sure to energize your snack-time routine!
1. Top It
Top it like in this Tropical Smoothie Bowl made with CLIF® White Chocolate Macadamia Crunch Granola. I love a good smoothie bowl with some texture and crunch which is why granola is a must have. Blend up your favorite smoothie or try a tropical combo of frozen banana, pineapple and mango with yogurt and coconut milk. Slowly add the coconut milk until the smoothie is thick and spoonable. Pour the smoothie into a bowl and top with sliced pineapple, banana, kiwi and a heaping handful of CLIF® White Chocolate Macadamia Crunch Granola. Enjoy with a spoon!
2. Bake It
Bake it like in these Crunchy Chicken Fingers made with a CLIF® White Chocolate Macadamia Crunch Granola coating and spicy dipping sauce. Yes, can you believe it? Granola crusted chicken tenders, the perfect blend of sweet and savory flavors, enjoyed by kids and adults alike. To make crunchy chicken fingers, dip chicken tenders in flour, then egg, and finally CLIF® White Chocolate Macadamia Crunch Granola. Lightly coat or spray tenders with cooking oil. Bake granola chicken tenders in a preheated oven at 375 degrees F for 12-15 minutes or until the internal temperature of chicken reaches 165 degrees F and the granola crust is golden brown. Enjoy warm with your favorite spicy dipping sauce.
3. Dip It
Dip it like in these Dark Chocolate Banana Pops made with CLIF® Blueberry Crisp Granola. Super simple, yet super irresistible. Who doesn’t love bananas and chocolate? Place bananas on a popsicle or appetizer stick. Dip bananas in melted dark chocolate and roll in CLIF® Blueberry Crisp Granola. These are super yummy frozen, too! If you want frozen banana pops, place bananas on a popsicle or appetizer stick and freeze. Dip frozen banana pops in melted dark chocolate and quickly roll in granola. Enjoy right away!
4. Mix It
Mix it like in this Superfood Granola Trail Mix made with CLIF® Blueberry Crisp Granola. Almonds, dark chocolate covered blueberries and granola all in one super tasty trail mix. Choose roasted, salted or raw almonds, chocolate covered blueberries or simply dark chocolate pieces and CLIF® Blueberry Crisp Granola. I used a ratio of 1½ cups granola, 1 cup almonds and ½ cup chocolate covered blueberries. Feel free to toss in more of your favorites to mix it up -- banana chips, salted cashews or peanut butter pretzels would be a tasty addition!
5. Freeze It
Freeze it like in this Frozen Granola Bark made with CLIF® Blueberry Crisp Granola. Frozen Granola Bark is the perfect summer treat or post-workout snack. With only 5 ingredients and less than 5 minutes to prepare, you’ll have a yummy, refreshing granola snack in no time.
