Name: Glenn

Title: Senior Business Applications Analyst

Hire Date: 9/2008

How would you describe what you do to someone who knows nothing about Clif Bar or your role?

The world we live in requires technology to do things faster and more efficiently. When you marry functional business processes with technology, you need someone who understands both sides. I provide both technical and functional expertise to ensure Clif Bar performs at an optimal level. I specifically support the distribution side, but we have business analysts like myself for all facets of the business.

What do you love most about working at Clif Bar?

It’s the vision of the company. I’ve worked with many different companies throughout my career, but Clif Bar definitely walks the walk. It makes me extremely proud to be a part of this company. It also helps that I work with a great group of people who are not just coworkers but my friends as well.

What are your interests and passions outside of work?

I love playing and watching sports. I’m a die-hard Chicago sports fan and have supported them since I was a kid. I’m not as active as I used to be, but I still enjoy playing golf or lifting weights. I have also helped coach my son’s football programs and would love to take that to the next level, although tossing the football around with my 2 boys is just as rewarding.

What is one of your most memorable food experiences?

I’ve been fortunate to try food from different parts of the world but one of my most memorable experiences was locally in San Jose. My good friend took me to a taqueria to try a Torta Ahogada. It’s basically a Mexican sandwich submerged in a super spicy sauce. It was so good but incredibly spicy. I was sweating and my mouth was on fire. Luckily, I had some choice beverages to help with the burn.

What has been or will be your greatest adventure?

My greatest adventure is being a father. Nothing compares to how challenging yet rewarding being a parent is.

What is your United States Armed Forces Background?

I decided to join the service to help my parents pay for college. I decided on the Army to follow in my dad’s footsteps. I graduated high school and was in basic training 2 days later.
