Steven Nyman is the product of a die-hard ski family. Mom and Dad were ski instructors at their home mountain of Sundance just outside of Provo, Utah, where they live and own a ski shop to this day. First on a pair of skis at age two, Steven skied first to last chair all season long. He honed his racing (and self preservation) skills alongside three brothers, each of whom pushed him in different ways. The Nyman Brothers found a natural joy for skiing that helped them feed off each other. By age 12, Steven made it known to anyone who would listen that his life goal was to become a professional ski racer and appear in the Olympics. Ten world cup podium finishes and three olympic appearances later, he is still not satisfied.
Outside of Ski Racing I work with SOS Outreach and Protect Our Winters. Both these organizations represent what I am passionate about, skiing and nature. I want to help give the experience of skiing to those who don't have it and I want to help keep winter sports alive and thriving.
